I did not jump on board the initial flurry of excitement when the X-T1 was released some years ago. I checked one out at a dealers many months back. It was always a bit highly priced for me. I did sometime ago dump all my m43 gear on the used market and never replaced it with anything. My Ricoh GR and DP2M spoiled me for IQ and the m43, while very nice was just lacking. I also could not shift my brain around the EM5s operation quickly enough at the frequency I used it.
Enter a Fuji cashback deal and I've just bought an X-T1 at what I see as a great price. I am looking to bond a 35mm XF to it soon. Initial fondle with the XT1 body surprises me with the weight. Its muuuch lighter than i thought. I am keen to see if that unique Fuji control layout will help me with the control issues I had with the EM5. As an X (ex?) X100 user I am somewhat familiar. I also want the 14mm prime as I was very much a Zuiko 21mm user in my OM4 days. Past that I doubt I will need more with the GR or DP2M as well.
I am looking forward to making some portraits and utilizing that EVF in our harsh bright light we sometimes have here.
Here's hoping this is a keeper.
