Went with my daughter on a three day trip to New York City. Took along my newest camera the EM-1 mkII with a 12-40mm, 45mm, and 75mm. Also along was the Monochrome 246 with a 50mm summicron.
The first day was a total wash out with a cold steady rain all day. I was glad to have the weather protected EM-1 along although I was too wet myself, despite a raincoat and and umbrella, to take many photos. But I did get this one while hiding from the rain and wind under a bridge in central park with these other wet explorers.

After a subway ride and a hurried walk through a cold wet central park, we spend the rest of that day in the vast halls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was our first visit there and despite spending 4 hours trying to see everything we only made it through about half.

The ancient Egyptian exhibits were very interesting. And the building scale made for an amazing ambience. 12-40mm

This bust of Abe Lincoln was in the visible storage racks. Even though it was behind glass, I liked the way light cast shadows in this image. Monochrome
The next day was cloudy and cool, but at least the rain was over. We spend the day visiting some family. Attended a musical and didn't have many opportunities for photography. But I did get a take few photos of some statues.

I didn't even get a chance to see who designed this or what building it was in front of.

Our final day was a glorious sunny one. Started with a visit to the Oculus designed by Calatrava.

Caught a nice sunstar/flare by stopping down the 12-40mm.

The rest of the day was spent wandering around the village and soho. Finally we rode the subway to end our day back in vastly different sunny central park.

A very special trip, unfortunately without much time for photography. Yet, still it led to some satisfying images I felt like sharing with the folks here.
