Hall of Famer
43 Rumors received a great image of the upcoming Panasonic GF3:

It sure looks like Panasonic is meeting Sony head on in a battle for the mass market.

I can already see the press release: "Smallest and lightest interchangeable lens camera with an integrated flash*..."

*There always has to be an "*" with statements like this.

The only way this camera makes sense is with either primes or a collapsable zoom. Wonder if panny is working on a collapsable zoom. The body is almost the size of a canon g12.

That does look tiny, but perhaps it's the angle they shot it at?! Yikes!

It is tiny! I don't know if you have handled the 14mm, but it is significantly smaller than the 20mm, and it actually looks large on the GF3. Any other lens you mount on it will look huge.

Cheers,

Antonio

Its not for me, but it does actually look OK. Any of the 3 m4/3 pancakes will work well with it and if it does have the 16MP G3 sensor then it should take great pictures. I can see the point of this whereas the NEX-C3 just looks wrong to me because of the size of the lenses.

Integrated flash in GF3?

Does anybody know if the GF3 actually has an integrated flash?

Would it be in the left of the body (GF2-like) or in the center? I can see a small line on the middle of the body, just above the lens... What is it for?

There seems to be little space to put a flash. Maybe they chose to drop it like Sony did with the NEX-3 and NEX-5?

There are lines in the center hump which look like they could house a flash.

Strewth that really is small!!!!!! Not sure if it's too small really. These companies always want to have the smallest this or fastest that. Can't they just leave things alone for at least 12 months?!?!?
