A Bodhran in the Middle East
A short film by Izhar Ashdot.

Ehud Nathan is a unique musician in Israel. He is a multi instrumentalist playing Irish instruments, notably the Buzuki and the Bodhran.
Throughout his career, Ehud has been a man on a mission, to introduce and spread Irish and Folk music to Israeli audiences, with his band Black Velvet.
For the past three years, Ehud has been an important member of my touring band.
We shot this short film, especially for the Vimeo Weekend Project, before and during the sound check of our most recent gig, at Kibbutz Lehavot Haviva in the center of Israel.

I really enjoyed that. Both for the photography and the music. I have a bouzuki amongst my collection of instruments, it's really handy in sessions for its volume, its unique tone which cuts through other sound and also the depth and richness of its chords. My bodhran is in hospital, it needs a new skin.

Thank you Heather. I hope your Bodhran gets well soon...
