Fuji You gotta see this: taking apart an X100

It kinda helps me understand why it takes so long for new cameras to get to market in sufficient quantities to meet demand, and also why there are occasional manufacturing defects.

Wow, that was one incredible task and it certainly looks like the insides are put together to very, very high standards so no wonder the IQ and overall performance is as good as it is.

I am surprised that the boat owner if running official trips did not have insurance and you could claim against him for a new camera - once owned, not to be without!! I would certainly challenge him on that.
 
I would certainly have looked into a claim against the boat owner for the remainder not paid out by insurance, but it's over.

This is another reason I carry plastic bags for my electronics. Not fool-proof, but a couple bags will buy time.
 
That Fujinon 23mm f2 lens looks so tiny on that picture where you see it whole, yet it produces such stunning images. Along with the hybrid viewfinder, this is the other marvel of engineering in the X100 for me.
