Sony Ok the NEX7 rocks

I was never really into the NEX cameras, the NEX7 looked nice with some good specs but I never jumped the bandwagon.
I did a comparison on my blog along with the OMD and Fuji Xpro with M glass. Man this camera ROCKS, I should have bought it instead of the OMD.
It is so easy with manual glass and so fast with the fps it's almost like cheating. I never knew it had of that in it's tiny body!
I think it's unfortunate Sony does not focus on their camera marketing enough, if it had, I might have bought the NEX7.
I dont really like the build and the UI but besides this it really is a solid camera, the best of all that I tested for manual lenses.

I love my NEX7.

Had Sony had some more decent lenses or even released a larger roadmap the EM5 would have struggled.

But m4/3 has a great range of great lenses and many more coming soon that take advantage of their cameras capabilities. A camera on its own doesn't make a system.

The real surprise to me is that the Samsung system hasn't done better. Now there's a marketing fail.

Thanks for sharing the blog (great design there, btw) and review!

If you have time to run a follow-up, you may want to think about not stopping down to f16. That's pretty far into diffraction territory and you won't be able to see any of the newer/higher mpx sensors' resolution performance. It would seem like the E-M5 peaks around f4, the Nex-7 at about f5.6, (assume Xpro1 is in the same range?), etc. I know you were probably trying to keep the playing field level, and this could make it really challenging to conduct a test with different DoF, but don't think you are giving any of the newer cameras a chance to show anywhere close to their true resolution performance. Just a friendly suggestion.

Thanks for the compliment!
I know for the f16, but then again, I just wanted max dof and not have to miss my focus :) (some of the cams really sucked at that)

Love seeing how this stuff gets put together, especially things as skinny and tight as modern cameras.

Care to donate the EVF, so that I can transplant it into my Pentax K-01? :D
