Welcome to this week's competition. A reminder of the rules:

Each member gets one guess. The answer will be revealed on the following Tuesday. The first correct guess has the honour of submitting the image for the next challenge. Sometimes there will be more than one thing in the photo or more than one way to accurately describe what the photo represents. The original poster will be the final judge of who is "most correct".

What have we here ?

Now it can be told. What you've been looking at is part of the interior of the Statue of Liberty in New York. The National Parks guy in the picture below is standing roughly by her left ear, so that piece of metal cladding in the original image is some of her hair just above her left ear, seen from the inside.

So apologies for deliberately leading you astray with this one. It does look like a bit of patio furniture or a bus shelter in my picture, and not one of the most famous structures in the world. Here she is in all her glory.

Regarding your guesses, I think it was a dead heat between amusement park equipment (Jose) and the roof of a train station (Marlof), but the latter seems a little more dignified and we're talking about the symbol of a nation here. So I declare Marlof this week's winner. Over to you.

I think that second shot would look dramatic in a high contrast b/w
With apologies to Richard for using his work, kind of like this?
