Thanks, Troy ... I almost guessed correct (I've read something about Port Hedland recently - still a blank spot on my map but that needs to change).
Hopefully you're talking about Karratha, nobody needs to see Port Hedland, it's literally the arse end of the planet...
Whenever I pass through I'm always reminded of the scene from Star Wars where Obiwan describes Mos Eisly Spaceport "Never will you find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy"...
With that, I can 100% agree. I spend most weekends in long hikes or bike rides out in the woods, and the solitude and near total absence of the presence of homo sapiens is always a pleasure. Occasionally I'll encounter other hikers or bikers, but the best days are when I see no one at all.... the further away from the crowds, the better.
Couldn't agree more. I've done long solo hikes through remote parts of Scandinavia and Iceland. Sometimes I haven't even seen another human being in a week or two but I sure had my share of animal visitors around the tent, especially at nights.Occasionally I'll encounter other hikers or bikers, but the best days are when I see no one at all.
