Pentax The new old K30

Finally cracked writing with light! This with the K30 and 35mm DA Limited.

I decided to give the K-30 another crack, and just received it a few days ago. Crystal Blue like my first one. I just have older MF lenses right now. I had forgotten about using the green hexagon in the OVF. I do miss having a MF aid that lets me magnify the scene in the viewfinder. I know Live View will do that. It will take some time to get used to the different handling.

Here are a few from today with the Jenna Flektogon 35mm f2.4, showing its selective focus ability. Don't know if it's the lens or the Pentax DNG files, but I do like the colors and clarity in these images. I'm going on a weekend foliage trip, and I'll try it out more then.

Tony, are those fairly default color profiles? They looks super saturated (the red even seems to be blocking up a bit in that one leaf). I actually like the look, but I'm just curious if these are edited in post or if this is kind of the look you expect to get straight from the camera (either in the DNG file or if this was some color setting applied).

Whatever the case is, they look great....i'm looking forward to seeing more from your camera (and the lens).

Evaluating a new lens this week, the HD DA 20-40mm WR. Really like the way it feels on the K-30, and the IQ looks good in the first couple of images. I'll be getting it out later this week for some low light adventures. Here are a couple of early morning wide angle shots. It will be interesting to see how it behaves in close quarter operations.

Ooh I'm jealous even though I haven't even got a Pentax any more. I really wanted a 20-40. Ideally on the front of a KP...
