    Leica No More Leica CL

The CL is a nice camera, Martin. And if you can't swing Leica lenses for it, Sigma makes a number if very nice APS-C zooms and primes in L-mount that work very well. Makes for a fun kit.

    Leica No More Leica CL

So do I. Thatā€™s why Iā€™m hoping Sigma or Panasonic will step up. Meanwhile, if a full-frame CL is introduced, Iā€™m hoping thereā€™ll be a Panasonic version - just as there are Panasonic equivalents to Leicaā€™s other L-mount cameras. That would mean I might actually be able to afford to buy one new.

Fuji Fuji X100VI coming Feb 20th

I hope the addition of IBIS wonā€™t make the camera any larger. And any improvement to AF is welcomed. But if the 40mp sensor is going into the X100 series, they would have to put a lot more processing horsepower in as well. I still have an an X100V. I wonder if Iā€™ll have reason to consider...

    Leica No More Leica CL

That sounds almost like an interchangeable-lens version of the Q2/Q3. It could be nice. Frankly, Iā€™d like to see another rangefinder-styled APS-C camera in L-mount so I can attach the lenses I bought for my CL to it.

Tilli, before you dump all your Fuji glass, you should try some of those smaller primes on an X-E4 body - or even an X-E3 body. You might find the same enjoyment you get out of the Pen F.

I keep plunking away at it. I sold off all of my Sony gear and micro four-thirds gear recently. Hurray for me! The problem is, I keep adding stuff. I really enjoy my Panasonic S5 with Sigmaā€™s DG DN glass on it (Remember Sigma is an OEM for L-mount). And I still have my Fuji gear. And I...

    Leica Q3 - 60mp

I have a Q2 and I'm going to stick with it. Autofocus and image quality are just fine for my purposes with the Q2. Plus, I can't afford a Q3 - at least not unless I got MSRP for my Q2 on a trade-in. And we all know that's not going to happen.

Advice Wanted Any Idea What This Is?

Yeah, I was afraid of something like that. My friend isn't using the camera for anything critical. It beats me why the failures occurred. But the circuits were uncharged for a few years. Maybe that was enough. The camera had been stored in a dry, climate-controlled closet, zipped inside a...

I gave a friend a Sony RX10 that had been in storage for several years. Fuji Your Fuji photo editor of choice?

I'm another jpg shooter here - at least with Fuji. Processing? Not much. Usually just the Photo app on my iMac. I dunno... as I've gotten older I seem to have "graduated" from obsessing over image processing. I try to get it right in camera and only add minor tweaking afterward. 50 years...

Same here. I rarely posted in their forums. But DPReview was an invaluable resource for reviews and hard information. I don't believe any other site can replace it. Which is why Amazon should give it away if they can't be bothered taking the time to sell it.

I'm another one who finds it remarkable that Amazon didn't even bother to try to sell DPReview - or give it away to the right party. This is what happens when a niche product comes under control of a conglomerate. DPReview was probably a rounding error in Amazon's financial reports. I wonder...

    Sony Sony and Sensor Dust

Gee, all this makes me feel better about recently selling off all of my Sony gear. Dust wasn't the motivator - a desire to slim down my kit was. And it doesn't sound like dust has been the end of the world for anyone. But this is just one more thing that reinforces my decision. I've always...

I have the Sigma 28-70 f/2.8 in L-mount and really like it. But I would suggest you check out the Tamron 20-40mm f/2.8. It matches the A7c in terms of size and weight very nicely. In terms of primes, Sony has a few nice ones for the A7c: the 24mm f/2.8, the 40mm f/2.5 and the 50mm f/2.5...

Agreed. While I have all of the f/2.0 Fujicrons and a number of newer zooms, I hang onto the original 14mm f/2.8, 23mm f/1.4, 35mm f/1.4, 60mm f/2.4 and 90mm f/2.0. Focusing on some of them is a bit on the slow side but they have character in spades.

The price of the new M11 comes in at about where one would expect it to in 2022. Alas, it also means my 1967 M4 will be the only Leica I will ever own. The issues Brian describes above only reinforce that conclusion. Those shortcomings do not represent "character." They are simply flaws.

I Finally Have My Bearings - and They Point to Fuji and Panasonic Full Frame

I also like how Panasonic is taking a page out of Fuji's playbook in that it tries to update and improve its cameras via firmware as much as it can as long as the hardware can handle it. For example, the S5's autofocus is markedly better now compared to when the camera first came out.

I Finally Have My Bearings - and They Point to Fuji and Panasonic Full Frame

I kept the G9 because it balances well with the PL 100-400 - which gives me an effective 800mm at the long end. Such a lens would be much larger on a full-frame body just because it would need to cover the image circle. But that's the only reason. If I find I don't use that combo much, it...
