And the camera is back this morning. Looks healthy, at least for now. One funny thing I noticed: I put back the SD card I took out before sending the camera, and the playback display showed this gift-box icon. Had to look up the manual - this is the "gift picture" icon, which means the pictures...

Oh the horrors. Fuji UK just emailed me saying that mine was shipped. Let's see if Royal Mail can deliver it tomorrow, just in time for the weekend...

I actually dived into this forum just about the time I was getting one (even though I knew of its existence before my X100 days). It was the first "new" camera I bought in very long time (well, except Sigma DP-1 I got for my wife a few years ago). I had bought an already a bit old and used Ricoh...

Thanks, this has worked for me. We will see whether I've gotten any worthy image out of the trip, which is a wholly separate matter from the camera behaving weirdly :eek:

I have yet to send my camera to Fuji but the problem worsened significantly - now the aperture blades almost consistently refuse to close at all. The only way to get a relatively correct exposure in A mode is to use ISO 1600 and f2.0. Anything else and everything is blown up. What is really...

Sigh. After spending several days too excited to be suspicious of anything, I checked mine and I think mine is plagued as well. Tested multiple shots at f16 and they show visibly different exposures. Wrote to Fuji UK.

Had a very enjoyable time with X100 in my hands this afternoon. Image quality is impressive. I've posted the following to this week's challenge as well (I felt it fit the theme somehow), but here is one shot from today. Jpeg + Silver Efex (yes, perhaps I should've shot it in RAW, but the Jpegs...
