looks like my dust bunny has now gone - i rode my bike fast along a cobbled street yesterday with the GR in the pannier but i had the camera lens upwards this time
I've just noticed the the position of the "dust bunny" has moved to a different part of the sensor today.
As the GR spends quite a lot of time in the pannier of my bicycle I'm hoping the constant vibration might even shift it off the sensor altogether.
This evening I put it loose in the...
Recently noticed an annoying bit of dust on my sensor http://www.boliston.com/2014/01/07/ricoh-gr-sensor-dust/
Anyone else had dust problems? it's annoying as clifton cameras (who supplied it) say they would need to ship it to ricoh germany so a possible 4 to 6 week wait to get it back.
That sounds pretty annoying about the dust speck - noticed one on my GRD IV that I got 2 months ago but I think the speck seemed to shift on its own as not noticed it recently.
The GR seems to have better edge sharpness than the GRD IV - Here is a shot from yesterday just locally in my...
I've checked the GR manual focus distance and it is definitely "sticky" between power ups. The only time it is not "sticky" is if you are in one of the "MY" settings modes where it will start up with whatever focus distance you originally programmed into the "MY" setting, which makes sense.
I've tried opening these raw dng's in rawtherapee 4.0.10 and the files look pretty normal using the "default" processing profile, almost the same as the google previews
I got mine delivered a couple of days ago (Wednesday) from Clifton Cameras (UK) so I've had a couple of times to test it in my lunch breaks.
It's noticeably bigger than my GRD IV, but hopefully I will get used to the extra size.
I've noticed that program mode seems with mainly use f/4 until...
Not sure about the GRD3 but the GRD4 firmware update appears to be o/s independent. I don't have OSX or Windows just Ubuntu and I just copied the firmware file to a freshly formatted SD card (formatted in the GRD4) and went to the firmware menu in the camera and selected upgrade and it worked...
I really like that last shot with the four pedestrians - the light & colour is spot on. I would probably opt to process the DNG file in Lightroom 3 rather than use an in-camera jpeg but I would like to be able to get colours like this.
