Thanks Sue. I hope you're not affected by the bushfires, I was in Sydney from Christmas through New Years and it was really bad.

Thank you! I like them too, I got sick after taking the night shots of the cathedral because of the extreme temperature, but I was very happy with the results and it was worth it :D

    Fuji X-Pro3 first impressions

Thanks for the info. I feel a bit deflated, I was looking forward to upgrading my camera. I guess I'll wait and see what they release in the future.

    Fuji X-Pro3 first impressions

I'm starting to use the 18mm more. I've been hearing somewhere that because if the new OVF magnification, you can't really use the OVF framelines with the 18mm and 16mm as well as narrower end of the lens line up. Is this true? or are these people pulling my leg? I haven't had the chance to...

Zoom or two bodies with primes?

I have gone through this dilemma in the past, I enjoy shooting with primes immensely but I cannot deny the convenience of using a zoom. I have had many a sleepless night debating this with myself, especially when the Xpro 2 came out the and the price of Xpro1 has gone down. Should I get a zoom...

Have your FOV preferences changed over time?

I've always shot with a 50 as it comes so naturally to me, I just frame the image I saw and press the shutter. Nowadays though I'm leaning towards a wider FOV, first moving to a 24 which is a lot coming from a 50 and now I'm starting to settle with a 28. I guess I am just starting to see things...

Your best work vs your favorite work

I agree with the previous statements. Some of my worst shots are my favourites, and some people really liked some of the shots I have nearly binned. I'll also expand on what Biro mentioned that art is subjective and catering to your customer's needs. A Picasso painting can cost millions of...

Leica Advise, opinions... Which lenses to take to Tokyo?

Iā€™ve spent a good part of my life in Japan, the gear youā€™ll need will vary with what you want to shoot and where are you shooting and Iā€™d apply this twice for Tokyo. In general I would consider Tokyo a crowded city (really crowded but not in a bad way), but there also some places that are...

Gravel And Spiders at Air Devils Inn

Not sure what it is, but I really like the colours in this set, It has a particular soft neon light 80ā€™s era / blade runner vibe into it, and while itā€™s not your face, itā€™s quite vivid. As for the b+w, Iā€™m a big fan of all things low light b+w :D

    How's weather at your place?

December was quite a shock for me. I was travelling around China for a bit where the temperature was ranging between -10 to -28 degrees (14 to -18 F), and when I flew back the temperature was 36 degrees (96 F).

    How's weather at your place?

I heard there was a 49 degree day in parts of W.A. around Christmas time till boxing day, did it actually get to that?

    How's weather at your place?

Try to stay cool Sue, I heard cooler conditions are on the way. I copped 47 degrees in Bookham a day after boxing day, travelling from Sydney back to Melbourne.

    Fuji Confession Time

I actually forgot my brain. I was planning to shoot a cultural festival, I was pretty excited and was playing with my camera the night before on my bed. I woke up late the next day, and in a state of panic I just grabbed my camera bag before rushing out the door. Arrived at the venue and...

All of the shots work for me on differing levels, Itā€™s a nice character study. I see shots 1 and 2 as more relaxed and collected in reflection. Iā€™ve seen these style of character study shots used in weekend mags about something relaxed and leisurely. These reminds me of the lifestyle section...

    Fuji Fujox

Hostile acquisition sounds like it, or Fuji has now a more of a controlling interest in the merger. Amongst the Cliffs Post Eclipse

To be fair though, the term "street" nowadays has been reduced to just shoving a camera into people's faces or taking photos of people's backs. However if you look at the works of Bresson who pretty much invented the genre, a lot of his shots play on the juxtaposition of his subjects, a play on...
