    Street Shooting With a 75-300mm

Oh man, dont worry about the internet. The internet is also full of those that have a 'need' for 100megapixel cameras and 10k video as well (sarcasm). Enjoy shooting the streets or your garden with whatever you find suiting to your vision. Dont forget that Bresson shot with a 'fast' f3,5 50mm...

    Street Shooting With a 75-300mm

Well I really dont want to open that can of worms, as it is. But, I will reply to Bart saying that the difference between tele and wide angle shots, has to do with perspective compression. Telephoto lenses will compress the background and subject, whereas the wide angle you need to get closer to...

    Street Shooting With a 75-300mm

Some people freak out when you say you want to use a telephoto lens on the street. Yes its a bit creepy it just depend how you use it, here are some known examples of what I believe excellent telephoto street and fine art photography: William Klein shot with 90 up to 135mm tele lenses on the...

Thanks so much Andy. No I dont shoot jpeg only raw in every camera i use. I do use however, raw+jpeg on the ricoh, and the jpegs are beautiful and yes it has the highly regarded 'high bw contrast' which makes beautiful high contrast bw files. The in camera raw processing of the ricoh is...

Hey Andy, sorry I missed this message! I'll try to be as short as possible, the Ricoh GR...ahh... well, I should start saying I come from shooting compact film cameras, LCA, Contax T2, Oly XA, Oly XA2, etc, but since coming to NZ, 5 years ago, film became... impossible for me to justify in...

Sony Might the RX1R M2 bring a Firmware update for our older RX1R ?

I absolutely agree Bill. Yet, what I was talking about is sony here, not other brands. I own Ricoh, in fact, I am the kind of photographer that wishes Ricoh made more cameras other than the GR. The GR is one of the best designed and implemented cameras there IMHO. Fuji, I personally like their...

Sony Might the RX1R M2 bring a Firmware update for our older RX1R ?

My main camera was the Sony A7 (the very first one), until last week when I sold it. Sony never updated that either. Actually the whole 'firmware update' trends to me, seem just a marketing status. I don't mind having cameras without firmware updates if they are done right, and clearly Sony...

Sure, the first two photos (glass and bubbles) are with the FE35 and the Girl with ducks is the FE55. the 35 is amazing. I love both lenses, but the 35 a bit more. I am selling all my gear to fund a RX1rII - when they become available though.

Sony Might the RX1R M2 bring a Firmware update for our older RX1R ?

According to this review Sony RX1R II Review: Now Shooting! - Field Test I also really enjoyed the way the Sony RX1R II handles Auto ISO operation. The camera allows you to set both a minimum and maximum ISO and without any limitation to the high ISO, which I've seen in other cameras. (The...

    Muriwai

Thank you guys for all the comments. :drinks: I guess part of the high contrast happens of two things. one and the main thing is that NZ and Australia have very, very harsh light. Skies are very clear and unpolluted, plus ozone layer is dangerously thin in this part of the planet, which...

    Apple Ticked at Apple

Funny Fuji and Ricoh does firmwares to improve performance on their cameras even 'old ones' (for todays standards of 'old'), Apple and others do firmwares to actually kill the gear and make you obsolete every 3 months or so. But again, Sony and Olympus release cameras quite a few times a year...

Sony Your biggest gripe about the A7

Nick, A lot of people in the internets say the same thing about the Leica 35mm Summilux ASPH that Ive got. not good off center etc. My experience with the lens on the A7 body is that the lens performs like no other for me. In fact, I havent experienced such sharpness and image rendition from...

Sony Your biggest gripe about the A7

Here's a set of images shot in a very packed sweaty metal concert with the A7 + the 35 summilux. with all images being shot in between ISO1600 and 3200. except the first two which were shot with the EM10 + O75mm https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1030775/Temp%20Links/BW_kings_arms_oct_2014.zip...

Sony Your biggest gripe about the A7

I have exactly that Kit. A7 + 35mm Summilux + Zeiss 55 + Ricoh GR. I dislike the following on the A7, in order of importance ā€¢ Shutter sound. Too Loud. ā€¢ Two clicks to magnify image to nail focus. It should be just one. no confirmations like on the GR. ā€¢ I cant set the minimum...

Ricoh Ricoh GR focus issues, is is a myth?

I still have my GR and its probably one of my all time favorite digital compact cameras ever. I cant say anything bad about the camera.
