After a finding 1" sensor compacts liberating I am coveting a Fuji x100f to get something better in low light but still compact, 35mm works for me though a 50mm would also be desirable so I am very tempted.

I bought a Panasonic TZ100, it was a good price and having found myself using a Canon G9x more and more fancied one with a viewfinder. So far it has been great in use IQ is good enough for an awful lot and the range is good. I also got an FZ72 in a charity shop, its range is fun but it feels too...

Apart from a few bits ie cartridge everything else is scratch built it sounds good and I like making things. I have made an updated unipivot today, trying an alloy tube for a change.

I frequently have gone down the rabit hole of looking at digital MF and Leicas, both I know personally is a waste some of the bodies come in at a reasonable price but once you look at a couple of lenses. However having handled both Leica M (still have an M3) and Hassleblad X series they do feel...

I should be having some nice offcuts of Walnut coming my way so I am thinking of a new plinth for the turntable, I think I will make it able to have 2 or three arms also so I can do a bit of experimenting there also.

Depending on the reviews, I will get the Sony 20-70 zoom at some point, though if given bad or lack lusture ones perhaps not. It does go against the grain buying brand new gear though, I much rather buy used.

Looking at it I am leaning towards the A7rIII 42 would be enough and here (UK) they come in used about the same as the 7c so given the A7 first gen AF is good enough it will be the best compromise option. Now have to consider lens options that I will use.

I am tempted by an A7riv, I can get one at some point but I am sure the resolution is well OTT for my needs. The form factor of the A7c is more to taste with it having a EVF off to the side and 24mp is perfectly usable. All that being said the idea of the high res of the R is calling and I have...

Micro 4/3 To switch or not to switch?

I made the move to Sony, though more by accident, I picked up a Nex dirt cheep and proceded to get a load more at silly prices that I profited on. I just kept getting better ones to the point that it became my main system. I tend to use slower zooms and F1.8 and slower primes so my usage is...

I used to think 4/3 as I had a 645 before going digital but came to realise that I have printed acording to the final image. It was done in the darkroom also, though I think some of those may have been driven by the paper sizes also. Do wish I could find a gloss inkjet as good as Cibachrome...

    Sony 35mm options

They look very nice, how high do they go? the one thing that puts me off larger wide range drivers is the loss of higher treble. Thats why when working out my current speakers I went two way, overall they are about 92db, also wanted to avoid a crossover around the voice band, On testing I get...

Sony Need advice for a lens please

Did Sony release a 10 or is it11mm lens recently? that would give near the field of view of the 16 in unstabalised mode. The reviews seem to be positive so it could be worth a look and its AF too.
