    Leica M4 or M6?

For what it's worth, I tend to agree with Bill Palmer's assessment. If you can afford it, a used M7 (despite the battery appetite) is a very easy camera to own and use. For some reason it is rather looked down upon for being "too complicated", with most people seeming to favour an M6 or earlier...

Fuji Is the X-T1 and 27mm pancake a better street camera than the X100?

Hi everyone, I have just joined the forum thanks to encouragement from Lightmancer with whom I cooperate on my photography site, Macfilos.com. By way of introduction, here is a link to an article I wrote a couple of weeks ago on my experiences with the X-T1 and 27mm lens for street work. It...

Leica M goes to London's Borough Market

Nice series, Andy. Borough Market really is one of my favourites but there are so many nice welcoming markets in the East End. Sometimes, though, there are more photographers and tourists than serious shoppers.

Leica M goes to London's Borough Market

I have revisited the scene with both 75mm APO-Summicron and 90mm APO-Summicron and I have to say I have more keepers with the 35mm. It's not that the longer lenses aren't sharp--the 75mm is one of my favourites--it's just that the angle of view doesn't seem to suit the close and busy market a...

Dead: The art of good conversation

Yes, sorry, my mistake. I pressed the button too early then had to go back and add the photo. All seems ok now.

Dead: The art of good conversation

What do you do on the island of Mykonos on Easter Monday? Not converse with your fellow man if this photograph is to believed. It's eyes down for the wonders of the internet. Taken with Sony A7r and Zeiss 35mm f/2.8. www.macfilos.com/photo

Korean take on Whitstable via X100S

My first day testing the Fuji X100S and I found this Korean TV reporter capturing the picturesque High Street in Whitstable, Kent. Impressed with the OOC jpegs.

Nice shot. Where taken? It looks like London, possibly Barnes Wetlands, but I can't be sure.

Leica M goes to London's Borough Market

An outing for my M and 35mm Summilux at London's ancient Borough Market earlier today. The market dates back to "at least" 1014 and is now the foremost food market in London, with the strong emphasis on gastronomic delights from around the world. See my full review at Macfilos Photo.

Leica Monochrom and Mykonos Street scene

This could be a posed shot but it isn't. It's a typical street scene, unrehearsed, from the old town of Mykonos in the Greek Cyclades. Used as part of my review of the Leica Monochrom. Taken with Monochrom and 75mm APO Summicron.

Leica C visits the Poet's Church in London

I am currently reviewing the camera and will have some colour to upload in the near future. So far I am seriously impressed with this little Panaleica and find it compares well with the more bulky D-Lux6/LX7. The lens is probably not as sharp as the 24-90 f/1.4-2.3 on the LX7 but I can live with...

Leica C visits the Poet's Church in London

First day out with the little Leica C and I snapped these two images of the Poet's Church, St.Giles-in-the-Fields, London. Built by Henry Flitcroft, St.Giles's was the first church in England in the Palladian style. The first picture is taken at the widest angle, 28mm while the second is at the...
