Geez, it's good you're on top of your healthcare.

I had a stroke last night

Next you're going to tell us you accidentally went skydiving because you were trying to put your parachute in the washing machine. Definitely stay active but, you know, take the dog for a walk with a family member, do the dishes. Don't be working machinery 'n stuff. :-D

I had a stroke last night

Geez man, I hope you do get to go home tomorrow. On the bright side, there are worse hospitals elsewhere in the world you could have found yourself in. Do you have a medical or other biomedical background? You're quite apt in understanding the circumstances of your healthcare and explaining...

I had a stroke last night

I think I completely misunderstood your circumstances - I thought you were being cared for at home while you recover, I didn't realise you were at the hospital the whole time (or partially at home some of the time?).

I had a stroke last night

No I meant if you get desperate enough to invite a quasi-stranger like me into your home. I could bring a couple of board games that you and your family would enjoy.

    A couple of Daita cameras

Family just came back from Japan, they bought me a couple of souvenirs. This is the Daita rangefinder. The 45mm f/1.9 lens is removable. The camera camera came loaded with film. They also got me a Diata TLR, also with removable 80mm f/2.8 lenses and loaded with film inside. The...

Cats The Requisite Cat (Kitty) Photo thread

That last cat's actual name is Buster. He was the neighbourhood bully where we used to live, picking fights with other cats. He was nice to humans though and he let me walk with him and photograph him. This is my favourite photo I took of him one fine morning.

Crashed the car on the weekend.

Ah there you go, the sign had been there the whole time.

I had a stroke last night

That is good to hear, I was going to ask if you need me to do anything to assist. Let me know if you get real bored and want to meet up and talk photography or whatever else.

Crashed the car on the weekend.

I had to drive past it twice today, in the rain. There was a sign actually, it was one of these with the words "WHEN WET" underneath: I don't know if it's been there the whole time or if it's new.

Hah it's a kookaburra, there's a family of them that live in the trees here. They're related to the kingfishers.

Crashed the car on the weekend.

I would not be surprised at all if that happened. The local council isn't the most competent.
  20. TraamisVOS

Crashed the car on the weekend.

No sign except for the absolutely crappy small sign warning about the busted railing which no one will see until they're already crashing into it. It doesn't cost the council anything to fix the railing each time because they claim it from the crash victim's insurance. They didn't have to...

I certainly haven't but don't 360 cameras do the same thing?

    A digital panoramic camera.

I have to take a look at that camera, it came around the time when I was away from all the latest news about camera stuff. Having said that, nothing produces the quirky images like the Widelux does.

Crashed the car on the weekend.

So ... I drove past that spot a few weeks ago and the local council finally fixed the road railing that was all busted up. And.... I drove past it again yesterday and saw that the road railing was busted up again, in the same spot, in the same way. Looks like somebody crashed their car very...

There's nothing like the quirks of the Widelux and the beautiful imperfections in the photos it creates, I just love it. There's no other camera like it (and some of the other swivel lens cameras), certainly not digital.

I didn't realise there were comments at the bottom of the petalpixel page but sigh it appears I share some of the same concerns. I really do want a panoramic digital camera though, perferably a swivel lens digital pano like the Widelux (although that's not likely to ever happen). A camera...

Animals The Animal Kingdom: wild or domestic!

Spoken like a true artist. Which is quite like myself if it wasn't for a legitimate reason why I'm up early Saturday morning .... the reason why I suggested that time frame is because I have to drive my daughter to Saturday school in Oakleigh South so I have a few hours to kill before I have to...

There was a local meetup of a group from the Leicauser forum a number of years ago, I attended that one and it was a lot of fun. On another occasion, Thorsten Overgaard organised a meetup when he was in town, I attended that one and it was fun meeting everyone there too. I just did a search...

Birds Magpies can be manipulative bastards.

I just worked it out - it's manslaughter. A manslaughter of magpies if there are more than 2 magpies. Two or less - it's probable cause, a probable cause of magpies.

    Your experiences with traveling light?

Knowing what I know now, I'd go even wider with a Widelux or a Hasselblad Xpan with the 30mm lens. :-D

    Your experiences with traveling light?

I wish I could do that. I have to be either in stills mode or filmmaking mode, I find it difficult to juggle both at the same time.
