I should have done the same, but dragged my feet and only ordered a few days after the announcement, but with a smaller retailer. Expecting (hoping) to get it late this month. We’ll see.
I should have been more clear - I was referring specifically to image quality. The Q lens is much better than the one in the V, both in quality and performance.
The FF sensor is also better in most scenarios, although the Fuji one is likely better at high ISO and highlight retention.
As an...
Same reasons I've pre-ordered the X100VI. Although not an inexpensive camera, it is much less than the Q series and offers a great feature set in a more compact package. For me, lens depth is the most critical dimension to factor in when looking at camera size, as it adds the most volume when...
congrats @Alberta Dave !
I didn't make the cut for the first batch, so waiting on the next delivery. My camera store is telling me they expect to fill all pre-orders by April/May. Hoping I'm not too far down in the queue...
Well, I just placed a pre-order for the X100VI. Not sure if I'll get the first batch at this point, but wanted to get in queue to see what happens.
We have a beach vacation coming up the end of April and think this could be a great camera to cover most uses - compact, weather resistant, flash...
Price is $1599 USD.
I really like the updated offering. The V was good, but adding the higher res on a fixed lens camera allows flexibility for crop in. IBIS is also another great addition for an everyday camera imo - less need for a tripod.
Announcement tomorrow, where we'll get the full details, but for now...

Looks very similar to the V, with only a couple minor changes, as expected.
Hard to tell from the first pic, if that's a gunmetal type colour, or just odd lighting on a black...
Would love to see this. A compact RF-style of the SL would be a great camera.
I am skeptical, as Leica will want to protect their other camera sales. Right now, each series offers something very unique vs the others. This new camera could cover most of those traits, with the exception of the...
After discontinuing the X100V, and limited supply over the past year, Fuji is set to announce the X100VI on Feb 20th.

So far, per FujiRumors, we now know of two new spec changes:
40mp X-Trans V
IBIS...
Voigtlander announced their new 18mm 2.8 color skopar for Fuji x-mount. Set to arrive in Feb.

After their 27mm pancake, many speculated that this was coming, me included. I was hoping for this lens to be an...
Enjoy it David. The new A7C models look great - improving upon the original and giving buyers options between models, depending on user needs.
My A7C isn't the most fun to use, but it just works and packs a huge punch in a very small size. The cool thing about it, is that you can keep it uber...
The Zf actually only has brass top dials. The top and bottom plates are magnesium alloy. I believe some 'reviewers' have made that incorrect brass plates statement, which is perhaps where you read it.
If you plan on keeping your Oly system (covering longer focal lengths), but are ok shooting 28/35 most of the time, then I highly recommend one of the Q’s. AF and IBIS requirements met, and provides stunning IQ and an excellent shooting experience, in a fairly compact size given the FF and 1.7...
GX85 sounds like a good comprise all-around. Pairing it would the 15mm (or 20mm pancake) + the 42.5 1.7 would be a great combo. And of course, the lenses will work with your OM-1 when you want.
Another option would be one of the GR twins* - the III or IIIx, depending on your focal length...
Coincidentally, Ali from One Month Two Cameras just posted a new video of her travels to Yosemite with her Nikon1 series cameras - V1, V3, and J5. Excellent images shared and illustrates the value this series offers.
Hey Andrew @gryphon1911, you may want to reach out to @Jonathan F/2 as I believe he’s had a good amount of experience with the Nikon 1 system (bodies & lenses). He’s definitely posted a ton of photos over the years, showing the great results you can get from the system. Especially when size is...
Hey John - thanks. Sorry, when I copy the image links in, the exif doesn't carry over.
This was shot with my Leica Q-P. The 'old' 24mp holds up pretty well and this photo was taken in very dark conditions. I upped some of the shadows and tweaked the colours and auto WB a bit to give a warmer...
Sorry, I corrected my original post. But thanks to Andrew @gryphon1911 for providing the proper link.
Regarding the Neewer grip, aesthetically, I definitely prefer it over the SmallRig. Fits the Zf styling better imo, with or without the red stripe.
Back to the Zf itself... still out of...
Thanks for the info Matt. I was thinking the tracking, particularly eye, would be great for portraits. Using my cameras mainly for documenting family life, I could see that being a great feature when wanting to use MF lenses...
I could see how that could happen. The Voigtlander 40 puts out stunning images, add the aperture ring for a full tactile experience that pairs well with the Zf.
How are you finding the manual focus aids versus your previous Z bodies - eye/subject tracking and green box confirmation?
Hey Andrew, are you using the standard adapter ring, or the 6bit coded one?
Appears the latter provides green box focus confirmation when manually focusing.
