In: Silver Nikon Z fc with 16-50 and 28 SE Out (at least for me, now with junior): Lumix GX9 with 14-140 and PL 25 1.4 For me as a die hard 43 and m43 user this is a test to see if the Nikon Z universe pleases me enough to try a full frame Z later on.

Just curious: your most fun DSLR to shoot?

Iā€™ve had only two: the Olympus E-1 and the Olympus E-3. I now only have one: the Olympus E-1. That answers your question which one was my favoriteā€¦ Iā€™ve contemplated using my E-1 with the 14-54 for a Single In - month, but Iā€™m afraid 30 days of using that wonā€™t be the same fun as it used to be...

Had my first tattoo done (yeeey)

So, one of us shares his joy about getting a tattoo and others respond with questioning his choice to get one? Live and let live Iā€™d say. You sound happy, Ovi. Therefor congrats!

    Micro 4/3 Showcase Panny-Leica 42.5 f/1.2

Similar feelings, but GR IIIx for me. Initially I thought of the GX9 as a tool, but I have grown very fond of it. So much that I bought the 12 and 42.5 for it. I now have a set of 12 1.4, 25 1.4 and 42.5 1.2 for the GX9, next to its usual occupant, the 20 1.7. Itā€™s so much fun to use! Itā€™s just...

GAS Considering a new system. Maybe Sony.

I recognize where youā€™re coming from David. The E-M1 III is a better camera than the Pen-F I also have. But I enjoy the Pen-F much more. Other than Clix Pix, I donā€™t think retro design is gimmicky. As one who grew up on manual SLRs, I just love the tactile feel of those cameras. In my hands, the...

GAS GAS: Please Share your Latest Acquisitions Big and Small

Just completed my fast prime setup for the E-M1mkIII. I already had the 25 1.2 for a few years, but got the Panasonic Leica 42.5 1.2 and 12 1.4 second hand in good condition and for a good price. I was always curious about those, but found them a bit expensive new.

Congrats, Itā€™s a great lens. Iā€™ve used it on my E-1 on safari with the EC14. At that time there were some stories about the first version breaking apart at the place where the info window was (internal screws got loose). Iā€™ve had it happen (saw it in time, since I was alert on gaps appearing)...

    Micro 4/3 Valoi easy35 - OK with M43?

I chose the stack of rings so the width of the 3:2 film fills the width of the 4:3 frame. That leaves top and bottom black bars from the film itself in the frame. These are actually helpful in setting the white balance, after which I make a 3:2 crop. Like you I find the remaining image offering...

in the end: I didnā€™t take it. I had my E-M1III with 12-40 in a bag on the handlebars and the GRIIIx in my pocket. But I regularly use the G5X mk II. Like you, I had good experiences with a Sony 1ā€ sensor. In my case in a RX100 model. But I didnā€™t like the handling of that camera. Thatā€™s quite...

Single In Single in September (SiS) 2023 - discussion

This time, my theme was looking out from the inside. I knew I'd often be 'locked up' inside during the day, while I would actually be longing to be outside. What I did learn is that for me using a camera that I love to handle (Pen-F) beats a camera that is somewhat easier to use, but feels like...

Single In Single in September (SiS) 2023 - day 20

This reminds me of a story of my mother, who had a dobermann but never dared to leave it out of her sight. Youā€™d think a dobermann would make an excellent guard dog, but my mother was always afraid someone would steal the dogā€¦
