Long day today. But the other day we were going through some boxes from my in-laws and figure this would have to make in one during this challenge. All I can say is: What? Why?

Don't often get a nice picture of this one, he's normally curled up in a ball that just presents a black ball of fur. But he was nice enough to stand and pose for me today.

A little late to posting this, but what should have been a 3.25-3.5 hour drive ended up taking 11 hours to get home. Debated getting something a good bit longer than just the 70-200 I have, but decided against it.

Well, we have power back so here is the original phone edit from the camera and with Lightroom edit from the camera. Slight difference in the files created as well, even considering I downsized the Lightroom export to 20mp. Left the original in the thread, but I'm tempted.

Stuck in a winter wonderland with no power. I may end up reediting and reuploading when I can actually see it better ( and when I'm dealing with a file bigger than whatever the things transferred).

Nothing like waiting until almost the last day, but I think go with the 70-200mm zoom for the challenge. A bit of a change for me. I've used wide and normal zooms, but not a telephoto, and the longest lens was the Sigma 56mm (112mme).

Micro 4/3 Debating the Olympus 75mm VS Sigma 56mm

Owned both, they are both wonderful hunks of glass. I prefer the 56mm (112mme) focal length, simple as that. I always found the 45mm too short and while I would have been fine with the 75mm if the 56mm didn't exist, I'm glad it does. There is no question that the 75mm is one of the best, note...

Film People have asked, What was your first camera?

Some version of a Polaroid Land camera from the mid-1960's, or a Minolta-16 EE. I'm not sure which I was allowed to use first.

Micro 4/3 Wide angle Lawoa or ?

I had the Oly 8-25 and liked it a lot, more than the PL8-18 f/2.8-4/0 or Pan 7-14 f/4 I had before. I prefer an AF zoom in this range, but from the reviews that I have seen the PL 9mm would be my pick. Here one...

Just curious: your most fun DSLR to shoot?

One of the reasons I dumped all my Nikon gear when I closed my studio was, at the time, that I didn't think mirrorless AF could match what I had with my D800/D750. That way I wouldn't be tempted to do jobs on the side and I could say if (when) someone asked me I could say "sorry I sold all my...

Just curious: your most fun DSLR to shoot?

We do have Canon shooters here. But thinking about it, there was a group that left DPR and joined/formed the Nikon Cafe (well Amin started his sites as I recall) . Then many of us joined Amin's other sites over time. I'm not sure if there was something similar on the Canon side.

Just curious: your most fun DSLR to shoot?

How many x Nikon DSLR shooters can you have in one thread? Most fun/liked the best? It would be easy to go the opposite way, D7100 and D90 were by far my least favorite. But I will have to acknowledge I was shooting events when I had them, So I also had a D300, D700, and/or D600 during the...

GAS Considering a new system. Maybe Sony.

OK, things that went into my decision and what I’ve learned so far since my switch to Sony: Nikon: I'll start with the easy one. I shot Nikon for years and tried the Z5 a couple of years back and more so Z7II last year just felt natural. It's something IMHO Nikon did extremely well, a Nikon...

    Micro 4/3 New rumors

My REAL preference is screens like the Fuji X-3/5 or Sony A7RV. Multi tilt. But I have gotten used to the foldout screens. Ask yourself the question, how often do you shoot portrait off angles? I shot them enough that I have learned to appreciate the option. Yes in most cases a simple...

GAS GAS: Please Share your Latest Acquisitions Big and Small

Looks like a nice lens, but f/1.8 is one of the boxes the Sony 20 checks off. I tend toward having a couple of small and light primes and a couple of fast primes. The smaller so far I'm looking at are the Sony 40, Sigma 90, and Voigt 15. Faster it's the Sony 20 and TBD.

Sony AF Area Registration option for return center

So use the focus mode of "center fix". I could, but I'd have to go back to the other point to be able to move the point again. It might work better than what I have now since at least it wouldn't pop a warning that I have to dismiss to continue.

Sony AF Area Registration option for return center

Just getting to know my A7CR. Currently, I have the center point as a registered AF area. I like having an option to quickly get the point back in the center. What I don't like is that I can't then change the focus area, it keeps giving me a message saying "invalid while recalling...."...

GAS GAS: Please Share your Latest Acquisitions Big and Small

Thanks, so I'm finding it loads of fun. I looked at the Sony 20mm f/1.8 today. It's a lot smaller than I thought it would be, definitely changes my plans. I have the 20-70 f/4 and found locally a nice copy of the Sony 28-60mm kit lens. I also have a copy of the Sony 40mm f/2.5 coming. I had...

GAS Considering a new system. Maybe Sony.

Have to look back at the thread, had and already returned the Tamron 24, The AF bugged me too much and reminded me of the Pan 20mm that I bought and sold 5 times because it was a great lens with bad AF. I like the idea of the Samyang/Rokinon options. But I've seen a couple of reviews that...
