    Infrared Gear Fun with Infrared

Great shots, I have wanted an ir converted camera for some time now , I finally broke down and picked up a 720nm conversion which will offer me the ability to shoot some false colour ir as well. Sadly it's arrived along with winter so ir opportunity is limited for now .

Fuji How many cameras have you sold for Fuji?

I've only been using fuji for under 2 months , a Friend in Ottawa was swayed by my comments and the flickr feed and went out and bought an XT1 w/ 18-135 and 35 1.4. He's a longtime Leica and Nikon guy.

    Fuji Showcase Fujinon XF 35mm f/1.4 R

i ordered the 16-50 and 50-230 from a japan ebay seller for my wife - they are surprisingly good for a pair of lenses that cost $350 plus the $75 i was assessed by customs . Still not a zoom guy but i can see using the 16-50 sometimes ( I'm thankful Henry's had sold out of the XE1 with the 18-55...

Fuji Focus tips with 56 1.2

in the studio (particularly high fashion) you may be surprised to find a large majority of the shots are stopped down to f4 territory - i know a couple of guys who shoot fashion for a living in Paris and Toronto). In fact this mania for ultra narrow dof is largely a digital era thing. too much...

Fuji Focus tips with 56 1.2

I pretty much agree with all of them ( i was a little disconcerted going from having SR on everything (Pentax) to the Fuji where I only have it on 2 entry level zooms for my wife) I'm practicing old habits and finding i can get pretty low hand held ( quite low indeed on the 18) and art filters...

Gotta say while not the sharpest lens in my stable there is not a thing to complain about, like previously mentioned it fits nicely on the camera and into a pocket (both on the xe2 and the xt1) for me this was bought with the xe2 in mind though here is one from the other day a Christmas selfie...

haven't really got much chance to shoot it yet as I have better lenses for dealing with the darkness that is life at this time of year, but with the ois it is quite capable for a lens that cost me very little (I think $160 Canadian all said and done) 20141212-DSCF5117-Edit.jpg by Eddie Smith...

Fuji Focus tips with 56 1.2

I agree, I shot an nikkor 85 1.8 h and a nikkor 105 2.5p on a nikon f2 back in the late 70s and if i missed focus it wasn't the recompose that did it, it may have been rushing a shot and just missing the focus on fast moving (live music) or other poor technique errors but theproper recompose...

    Fuji ONA Prince and Brixton

looking at the specs the brixton is taller and wider, I have a brixton so can't help with the comparison much but i will say the 13" laptop will be a tight fit on the brixton , the macbook pro is 12.75" x 8.9" that is pushing the boundaries of the brixton so I think the prince will be too tight...

Fuji Really having trouble choosing a bag for X system

Fuji Really having trouble choosing a bag for X system

they are a bit pricey (and maybe a little hipster-ish particularly in leather variants) but the Ona bags may suit your needs. Guardian Art Critic on photography

arguing the extreme position is always a good way to drive traffic to your site, it generates page views and justifies the Guardian paying him. Fuji Advice on the XF 23mm

Agreed in general - though the 35 is the fov we've been supplied with as a normal lens pretty much forever. HCB shot almost all his photos with a 50 which is effectively what the 35 is. but you aren't going to shoot a group in a small room with a 35 but you can crop a 23 to narrow the fov...
