Tried a shot of the sun with the 16 stop nd filter. This is straight out of camera.

I had to work during the 2017 eclipse. And no where near the optimal viewing area. But I was able to grab a few shots from my shop's parking lot. Instead of getting anything special for the eclipse. I just ordered a step up ring and threw my B+W 10 stop on a Fuji 50-230. This year I'm off work...

Makes me want to not post anything till this wave of awesome calms down so I don’t have to be bad shot in the middle of the good ones.

At one time histograms were useful. But with the end in mirrorless cameras, histograms are of no use.

Having shot many events. Unless the lighting you will be working in is horrible or really low. The 16-55mm 2.8 is a far better option for event work. And it can be had used in great condition for the same price as the 18mm 1.4 or 23mm 1.4.

I’ve owned both. Both are incredible, very well built lenses. Between these two, it is literally just a matter of which focal length you prefer.
