Brand new ZEISS TOUIT 50MM F/2.8 MAKRO-PLANAR (Fuji X mount).
I received this last week from Tony over at...
I dunno BB……..those bunnies (not the 19 pounder) can be elusive.
BTW…..did it EVER warm up there? (I am SO cruel……lol……..you know you have an open invite)
R
Bill, it's not bad……slightly more reflective than the LCD. I find in bright sun, I'll chimp the shot through the EVF.
It doesn't cover the icons……just barely touches the right hand side of them.
I guess I would have preferred an exact fit on the LCD, but as I said…….I have had some bad mojo...
I purchased this one for the X-E2:
ACMAXX 3.0" HARD LCD SCREEN ARMOR PROTECTOR - FujiFilm X-E2 Fuji XE2 XE-2 X-E-2 | eBay
At first I was a bit miffed. Somehow I expected it to adhere to the screen. What it does, is sit up on the edges and therefore, there is a tiny air gap between it and...
Aaaawwww………really……four years???? That's just cyberseconds in our world.
Congrats on a smart purchase. My wife still has the 1st gen iPad and Santa has her on his list for a Christmas iPad Air (funny……Santa got her the 11" MB Air last Christmas and it sits largely unused….she is just an...
Oh BB……I have had a mini, and it's a great device, but have you held the iPad Air in your hands?
Phew…….hard to put down. It is almost mini-esque in size. (I NEVER thought I'd be saying smaller is better )
BTW…..what's the temp there today? Heading that way on a Wed night...

Armando……I use the focus peaking instead of the split prism for the same reason as Jay……but will STILL go into enlarged view on critical focus just to be sure.
Rico…….I think I read somewhere (that you wrote) the the Zeiss lenses do not support firmware updates and therefore LMO.
How important is this in the future with Fuji bodies supporting LMO?
I love music....all music.
In a different light...with the X100S
(I was going for the grain of pushed Tri-X. I always liked Tri-X @1000ASA in Acufine developer, it would always maintain the short toes and shoulders on the tone curve, i.e. no blown highlights or completely black and...
Nice shots.......my local camera store guy says mine comes in on Friday.
Already ordered a different hood.

BB.....off topic.....I just saw that you reside in NW CT. I thought you lived in Philly. I grew up in CT (Cheshire....outside of New Haven). My mother is 92 and still living there. Hopefully, I'll be back there before the end of the year (or actually before it gets brutally cold )
I am liking this camera MUCH more than I thought I would. I bought and sold my X100 way before the firmware upgrades that improved its performance. This camera is astounding me for the simplicity and accuracy of all of the operations.
Some photos from around the shop.
I imported the RAW images into LR......the B+W images were developed in SEP2. The jpegs looked darn good.....shot in Provia, but I decided to see what "depth" there was available in RAW. I have the X-E1, so there was some familiarity with the X-Trans sensor. I routinely added a little...
I would only take the X100s and the wide angle adapter. It would challenge you photographically and get you up the learning curve really quick.
In the meantime, I would shoot the X100s as much as you can between now and your trip.... take hundreds of shots (it doesn't have to be pretty) and...
I felt it handled details well......lots of options in PP.
Landscapes too.....
At least I'll shoot this more than my 5DII.
Aloha Canon......it was a good ride.
I traded my 5DII for the X100S yesterday. All my Canon lens were long gone. The 5DII was the sole survivor of the full frame dSLR era for me. I hadn't shot it in over a year......so I traded it for a point 'n shoot ;)
Here are a few shots from today.
It's so light.
The JJC adapter is identical to the Fuji AR-X100 adapter and the LH-X100 hood. The quality is good and the color match is fine.
The lens hood blocks a small portion of the lower right hand screen of the OVF. For me, this is not an issue. If you use the hood, you can not use the Fuji push on...
Armando......there is really a big difference in AF acquisition (esp in low light) and in accuracy.
The other huge plus is that on my original K5, nearly ALL my lenses needed micro focus adjustment, either (+) or (-)......sometimes a LOT.
None of these same lenses have needed any on the K5iiS...
There are SO many good lens to choose from......most small and compact. Right now I am putting a three lens travel pack together for a trip to Chile. Joining the K-5iiS are the DA* 50-135/2.8, the DA 15/4 and the ultra sharp DA 35/2.8 macro. (I am still somewhat surprised at the lack of love...
I find the workflow to be very fast (not a one-stop shop in LR, but anything but sluggish).
SPP has a quite adequate browser and thumbnail size is easily adjusted. Even though I don't batch process, SPP saves your last settings.
Choose your photo.....make corrections (rarely any after the...
Speed booster aside, those shots with the CZJ 135mm look pretty darn sharp. Thanks for sharing.
I received the C/Y to XP adapter yesterday and shot with the Contax 85/2.8 Sonnar today. Two impressions; setting the speed to 1/125 and f/2.8 all shake was pretty much eliminated....and the...
Wow.......nice photos and nice separation from the background. Any problems focusing the Sonnar? Do you use the magnified EVF?
I am waiting for my C/Y mount adapter to arrive and try my Contax 85/2.8 Sonnar.
