So for the fun of it I did a quick test to compare these cameras

first we have the samsung, taken with the kit lens (don't have the 30mm yet) 20-50mm @ 3.5 , iso 1600

AWB was set to auto, shots were in jpg , except for the omd which was in raw
The omd was the fastest to focus, then xe and samsung (but with crappy kit lens)
also notice the samsung is 20mp, so i resized a bit

My personal fave is the OMD shot, but i could have got the xe-1 shot better tbh ;)

I just did some "new" shots, and I can even get the olympus shot razorsharp at iso 400 while using MF (was testing MF on the omd)
The XE1 new firmware didn't make AF much faster btw

I think the OMD will be preferred because it's closest to the correct DOF for this particular shot. It'd like to see the Fuji at around f4...that should have The Thing's whole head in focus, but still keep his shoulders slightly OOF. Plus, the lens is a fair bit sharper when you stop it down a bit.

Yea but it's amazin the 45mm F1.8 can be nice and sharp at 1.8 and iso 400 while the XE1 struggles with AF at iso 1250 and F2
and let's not forget the XE1 bigger sensor size ofc

OMD +1

The 45/1.8 is just a pretty awesome lens in general. The trio of the 17/1.8, 45/1.8 and 75/1.8 are looking great on my new silver OMD. Just need to add the 12/2. Maybe Oly will give us a 100/2 too!

You know I'm gonna be the oddball here and say I kinda like the Samsung shot ?! How is the AF on that thing ?? Is it a NX200 you got ??

Lol, the samsung is by far the worst imo, but i don't blame the samsung because it's with the kit lens (no IS) and 1600 iso

focus is ok, but again, should be a lot better with the 30mm f2

Low light AF on the Samsung is still nowhere near the E-M5, even when it does have the 30mm pancake fitted. The speed isn't too bad, but it needs a stronger point of contrast than the Olympus to lock on to.
