Day 8 - Golden October

I went to shoot some photos of a friends band tonight. I learned that f1.4 and ISO 6400 are no match for pitch black. I told him I didn't need broad daylight, but when he asked for me to shoot them after nightfall in a darkened bar, I thought he was joking. I've had to delete a LOT, but there's some I can salvage. I may do a separate post to share a bunch if I can make enough of them work. Here's one beneath a security light behind the theater....

Small-town Americana: it's the Harvest Festival in Talent, Oregon, an annual Parade, Pancake Breakfast and Crafts Fair where all the old farmers drive their ancient John Deere's and Farmall tractors down main street, alongside the Roller Derby Girls and the local High School Band. A lot of October colors to be seen here - including this long-in-the-tooth white Fire Truck.

We had a crisp and beautiful evening with sounds of birds and fish jumping out of the water.
