Sony microSDHC card use

Sorry for the newbie question, but . . .

I've already got a microSDHC card and I'd like to use it with my new RX100 but that card slot is cavernous. How is one supposed to use a microSDHC card in that slot? Is there some kind of adapter that is needed?

Yes. Walmart, has them paired up. I have one from a smartphone, that we use as a backup.

Thanks. Do you mean that there is an adapter that comes with the microSDHC card and you use them together?

Also, without any card installed, does the RX100 have some internal memory so the camera can be used with no card installed?

The micro SD is inserted in the adapter and together they are inserted into the camera. But as cheap as the regular SD cards are, I would just get one of those. And for photos 2 gig is all I ever need. But If you shoot a lot at one "event", you may need 4 or more.
Don't know about the RX100, although I doubt it.
