Good read with some complelling WW II vintage images from a German soldier/photographer. I will leave to the more seasoned photographers to identify the serious compact camera(s) the photogrpher was using in a couple of the photographs.

Thanks for sharing. A very interesting story.

I wonder if the photographer ever felt remorse for the scenes he witnessed. He seems to have backed out of being a propaganda photographer, and never picked up photography again (see more of his story here: A Nazi Photographer Is Quickly Identified. So Is His Wife, Who Was Killed in the War. - NYTimes.com).
