The Well Trodden Path to the Pub

This is a beautiful street in South Queensferry, on the banks of the River Forth between the Forth Road and Railway Bridges. I often walk along here, camera in hand, thinking there is nothing new for me to capture, yet still each time I take my camera just in case. These are the images I saw on Saturday afternoon as I strolled along the path with my X100 in hand and my husband walking slightly ahead of me as we made our way slowly to the pub under the Railway Bridge at the other side of town. They are unusual for me as they are all (except the first) in colour! Hope you like.

Hi Karen.

I know the area it's really nice. I tend to have my sandwich and cup 'o' tea break there before I cross the bridge on my sorties across the borders.

A great set of shots processed beautifully. What software have you used?

These are the kinds of pictures that make me want to live in an interesting and walkable village or town.

Was there a first communion going on? Those little girls in their party dresses are lovely.

Wow, amazing pics with great processing! Do tell how you did it :) I have a brand new iMac with 27" screen but haven't been able to get my son -in -law to be to re-load my Lightroom and catalogue from my saved hard drive. I've only got iphoto to use at the moment. I didn't realize how much I'd miss being able to change the whole character of a photo with processing  Your photos have fed my imagination, thanks for posting.

I thought about you the other night when Case Histories was on, they were in South Queensferry. I wouldn't have known were it not for your pictures, I don' think I've ever been.

Thanks everyone.

For the post processing I used color efex pro 3 complete (bi-color filters and bleach by-pass mainly ... well spotted Nic). The borders were created in photoshop elements 9. I tend to prefer black and white so silver efex pro 2 remains king, but it was fun experimenting with color efex pro 3 with these images.

Christilou, your previous adventures with color efex are what inspired me to splash the dosh on this software, so it seems only fair that I inspire you back again with it!

BB, the girls in dresses are flower girls/bridesmaids. I counted three different wedding parties on my path as I walked to the pub.

Heather, I hadn't heard about Case Histories. Will have to see if its on catch up tv. Next time your are over in the East you should drop into both the Queensferries (North and South) as both are worth a look-see.

Thanks again for the positive comments everyone. I've never posted so many pictures at once before, I almost felt naughty, but I had such fun with these pictures I just really wanted to share!
