A tale of chasing a sunset

Just minutes ago, we came home from driving through the rain.

We're watching the news when I look outside: the sunset looks epic.

I dash outside, snap a quick shot from the side yard:

The colors don't represent what I am seeing.

I jump in the car, racing toward my favorite western-facing high spot. I get stuck at a traffic light. I'm watching the clouds close while I'm waiting at the light. I snap this through the car window:

I finally get to the park and get my first exposure:
