Sony RX100 - A question about Display settings

My present to myself this year was a RX100 I, which is a definite improvement over any other digital camera I have ever owned. I haven't taken a ton of photos yet, still sorting things out, and I have a question about a curious thing that just started happening today.

I turn the camera on, (Intelligent Auto mode) and get minimal information on the display - shutter speed, aperture, and ISO. This is all good - I really don't want a lot of information cluttering up the display. As soon as I take a picture however, instead of just showing me an image of the photo, the display goes into information overload mode, and looks like this:

I've followed the instructions on the on-line Users Guide (several times) to try to eliminate this "feature", but with no success. It's information that means nothing to me, and anyway, it doesn't last long enough to make any sense of it.

Can anyone out there help me with this?

Thanks.
