Price listed as $649 - the G2 started at $799.
Thanks Bill. We are slowly moving to more pixels and menu driven functions accessable via touchscreen.
Too many todays gear is too overwhelming, too many functions.
The X100 has many buttons, the G3 less, menus are different.
Wish we were able to setup a camera via laptop. To get best setup that gives the shooter best results.
It it really is the case that manual controls get less and operation by touchscreen is the future of cameras by Panasonic, I won't be interested in their cameras. And most probably the G3 will need new batteries and spare batteries won't be available for a long time. However, we still have to see, if the rumors site is correct.
Pictor I expect something like the GF2 = smaller, less buttons, touch screen. I'm with you on preference for electro-mechanical controls.
I guess our cameras are eventually going to be like my Droid X. Touch screen. The problem with it I see is they keep cramming more and megapixels into the same size sensor. I had a Panny FZ100 and it was pretty dismal what they did to it. You would think they know better to not keep cramming more and more Mp in a sensor but they just keep doing it.
