Ricoh A very Dutch Winter (Ricoh GR)

Pim

Regular
Location
Eindhoven, The Netherlands
Name
Pim
We had a small spell of winter here just after Christmas, so I went for a walk with the GR to capture some of the winter-wonderland, which is getting more and more rare for The Netherlands in the last years. It was already close to sunset and the sky turned a dark blue almost, but the GR seemed to cope, at least for my taste.

Our Dutch members all seem to have a nice eye for their native landscapes, and I think the Netherlands would be a place I could easily spend a lot of time snapping.

I've just recently been reading Stieglitz' articles about his visits to Katwijk (what he called Katwyk) in the 1890s, and wondered if Pim or Marlof or PJacobs (or any of our other Dutch members, of course) had photographed there.

Although I have always lived at the Eastern border of our country, as far away from the sea as possible, I have a soft spot for our shore. I have been to Katwijk, but that was before I took a camera everywhere, so alas I don't have an image to share with you. If ever I'll return, I'll share some images.

Nice shots. The second to last one is my favourite :)
Which forest did you go Pim?

This is actually a park close to where I live, the Philips de Jongh Park in Eindhoven. It used to be private grounds belonging to the Philips family (the ones who started the big Electronics company), but these days it is a public park, with a nice little pub in the middle as well...:)

Same goes for me yes, I like the shore but somehow always seem to end up there without a camera... Maybe it is just my subconscious trying to warn me against sand and salt in the camera, it can get very windy on our shores....
