A few weeks back I bought a 35 cron to use with the A7r. I am so pleased with the results that I decided to bite the bullet and complete the set of Leica lenses I used to own by purchasing a second-hand Leica Elmar 50/2.8 (last version).
Except amongst the cognoscenti this is a much un-loved Leica lens so the prices are very good at present. Personally, I think it has excellent sharpness and bokeh (wide open) and should not be overlooked as a lens for any a Sony or Leica system.
Cat in the box (shot wide open at f2.8)
Reed's Place, Kentish Town (f2.8)
At f8 I find it makes an excellent landscape lens
College Lane, Kentish Town (f8)
