My daughter and I were discussing the Alaskan cruise we went on in 2008 from Vancouver to Anchorage. I started looking at the images and wondered about post processing some of them. I had only worked on a few and displayed even less. New technology is wonderful, especially hiding the flaws of old technology. I really wrestled with some of these images.

Beautiful! I especially like "Glacier Bay'! Your processing is quite film-like (which I like).

I agree, new software can give an extra edge to older hardware. I haven't updated my camera in a while ("a while" being a very relative term :D ) but I keep my raw converter up-to-date...

It definitely doesn't show that you had to wrestle with some of these - so well done! :)

Thank you Tilman. Yes, I didn't post any those. This one is of the Mendenhal Glacier in Juneau. Rained or very heavy mist the whole time were there. It appears to be noisy, I think it is the moisture in the air that caused the problems. I have been accused of having my head in the clouds before, but this is the first time it may have been true!

Thanks Pniev, they sure do bring back memories. I have many more to process and attempt a book for my daughters birthday in March.

    Thanks everyone for the likes.

I look forward to an Alaskan vacation one day. But this is a nice taste to hold me over another few years.

Just took a few moose shots this afternoon, by our place, outside Kenai, AK. Maybe post some in a day or so.

    You ask for it.
The cow moose, went by the house on one side, but I failed to get a good pic. I went out the back door to maybe catch a one. heard something behind me , and caught these. Taken with the Em-5 and The old OM 50mm adapted, not cropped, just re-sized for posting. We were close enough, to have a soft conversation. He just wasn't concerned, about me taking pictures. Notice the small "nubs", just above the eyes? new antlers beginning. Coming 1 year old.
And, then he just strolled off.

Thanks Steve! I rarely have seen a moose outside a zoo. Once off the road, Freeway actually, near Duluth MN. The other crossing a river when be boated to our cabin during a Canadian fishing trip. They are a large animal.
