    I find it more than ironic that just below that story is a photo of Mick Jagger who also looks like he has been frozen in a calcified state.

    Sad but fascinating mummies, and as you say, haunting photos. Thanks for sharing. The name sounded vaguely familiar, so I must have read about its leathal water and forgotten about it. I don't think I'll forget again!

    Interesting pictures.

    Natron was used by the Egyptians as part of their mummification process.
