An American steams into Buckfastleigh

Old Codgers Group
These typical American switchers (shunters to us Brits) were introduced by the US Army Transportation Corp in 1942. Many were sent over to Europe, and indeed beyond, and 14 were purchased by the Southern Railway in 1946. This one was a visiting engine on a military weekend on the South Devon Railway. An odd looking beast to British eyes.
