Protection Auto Lens Cap Feedback Request

I have an LX7 that requires the cap to be removed before powering-on, which is annoying. So I've investigated the use of an auto lens cap, such as the one linked below:
Adorama Auto Lens Cap for Panasonic LX7

Do these work? As in, does it protect the lens from damage? Is the protection minimal, good, or excellent? Do the flaps ever accidentally open?

I've seen these on various models other than the LX7, feedback from any users is appreciated.

Thanks.

Yeah, they work. I have one on my LX7 and had one on the LX5 before that. I'd say the protection is adequate. Its not as protective as the original cap - if some pointy object really smacked directly into the lens, I think the original cap would give you a better chance than one of these. But for the incidental kinds of day to day stuff a camera like this tends to run into, these are more than adequate. They're sort of ugly, but they're a no-brainer for me on a camera that can take advantage of one...
