    Hey Jock,

    nice captures. The sky has some nice structres, but those structures are quite common and to make them really special, you should work on the composition. Just showing some skies is not that interesting, but with a cood composition, like showing how the sky affects the landscape or the city would be really interesting. You can also use it to show some interesting shapes, like a castle or the skyline of the city. The sunrays in the first image are good to start with. You could show what they are enlighten. That's not to easy, because you need a good position for this photo and that could be some work (e.g. walk up a mountain, to see the ground). ;)
