    Here's the original:
    OMD Oakwood overlook (4).JPG
After playing with the sliders on Polarr:

    OMD Oakwood overlook (4)a.
Then I ran it through faux HDR in Perfect Effects 10:

    OMD Oakwood overlook (4)a copy.
I think the shot is now more interesting.

I did notice something about Polarr. When you save a file, you have to be sure to add the .jpg suffix to the name of your file; otherwise, Windows will simply display the file as a blank rectangle and other photo processing programs won't recognize it.

I haven't had THAT suffix issue. It will happily save jpgs for me with whatever name they already had. My new issue is that it will save a second, or even third jpg, all in the same folder, all with identical names. So you'd have to open them to see which was original and which you edited. I've begun to save this way:

    1. Click Save as usual, leave file name alone.
    2. Get to the folder browser for where to put it. It shows your folder, but shows NO files in it.
    3. Click the drop-down box to Show All File Types. Suddenly, viola, there's everything.
    4. Click on the one I'm replacing. NOW it will ask if I'm sure I want to overwrite it, as it should.

I think the way around that may be to use the EXPORT function on Polarr. It pops up a dialog showing the original name of the file, and I just add a suffix, like "A" as well as the .jpg That seems to take care of it.
