Canon G3X picture thread

    you should be able to figure it out...
    First two look pretty soft - was that digital zoom or does the lens just get funky at it's longest? The last two look absolutely wonderful!

    Ray,

    The optical zoom on the G3X stops at 600mm (e). The first two shots are at digitally zoomed well beyond that, but -- and here's the weird part -- so is the third one with the five geese. The equivalent focal length is bout 1200, f/5.6, 1/160s.

    The first shot was at the same shutter speed (1/160s), but the deer was 1/20s. Maybe I held the camera steadier when shooting the five geese, but that is a guess.

    how do you like it compared to your Panasonics? In IQ, and in handling? Did you get the add-on viewfinder or don't you use them?
