Smartphone Cell Phone Camera photos

a few more with the CM1... Still not sure if I really like it or not... Image-quality-wise it's mostly about the colours. (The colours sometimes come out a bit too cool - or the colour separation between similar hues is lacking)
Handling wise it's a clunker of a phone and the screen is really sub-par. (I'm currently back on my old LG G4 and that's just a much nicer phone overall... )
Ah well, can't have it all I guess :)

(P.S. oh, and the panorama mode on the CM1 simply doesn't work at all for me. The horizon is never straight and lines are always curved and all over the place.)

There's a good article here in The Verge about using a Google Pixel 2 XL to photograph the Geneva Motor show. I was very impressed with his results.

Camera phones really are advancing. Samsung's new S9 with real variable apertures is a huge thing. Plus the small size and always with you portability is huge.

And key is already knowing the principles of photography. I've seen a few folks get nice ILC cameras and be very upset that their pictures still don't look good.

Gear can only help bad techniques so far whereas a good technique can get great images from far inferior devices.
