Neil, I completely missed this beautiful forest scene. I think it's very difficult to take a picture like this and make it work but you have done it wonderfully. You've captured the subtle differences in textures and colors exquisitely. Not only all of this, but this scene gives me a real sense of place. I am in that forest with you, as I look at this photograph.

I came in here to post a photograph I took yesterday with the newer version of the same camera, but seeing yours made me stop and stare.

Now for something completely different with my LX5.

Christina - first I want to go on record here and say that your NEX5 w/Contax photo is a stunner! Talk about superb color! I don't know anything about that lens, so I'm not sure if it's the lens and or maybe your f stop that is causing the blur around the edges...but it is a great effect.:2thumbs:

Mayank - your celebration in pink of the Bougainvillea is a lovely mix of intensity and grace.

Vancouver is a beautiful city but we are a wet city which is what I was trying to convey with this mossy shot. As I was processing the shot though I couldn't put my finger on what was wrong with this photo. Do you see it ?? Take a look at the photo caption

"Flowing upstream"? Hmm.... Mossy but no snow in this one! The moss looks so rich and soft, Kevin.

From a certain angle it looks like the water is flowing uphill to me .. an unintended Escher-like result :)

Two hand held shots from this morning (yes, ok, I know I should have taken my tripod), just a short walk up the lane behind my cottage.
