Bad day at the canoe pool.

I've posted shots of its beauty in the early mornings, of pelicans and gulls at their morning ablutions: now, here's one shot a couple of years ago during some very heavy seas. I was standing at the far edge (this was at 180mm) and had to jump back to avoid getting wet. Always grateful for weather sealing, I am :)

Nice sharp clarity on the wave, it almost looks solid.

    Thanks, all...

@James... I reckon it nearly *was* solid, there was so much sand and grit caught up in it!

I'm with everyone else - this is not just beautiful but fascinating. Definitely worthy of a good sized print, Sue. Nature's graphic designers were working overtime and came across spectacularly - but you were there to capture this wild moment and did so beautifully!

Hmm, you have so many great nature photos Sue - you really ought to add yours to this week's Weekly Challenge mix. I hope you do.

Thanks, BB (and this is one of those that got unbolded before I noticed there was a reply, so have only come as a result of seeing your comment in flickr)...

One day to go on the challenge. I'll see if I can find something taken with a compact.
