    Wet Web, Cold Spider

    Cold, dark, foggy morning. Web is in the corner, between the slide and main body of our RV, so swings about 7-8 inches away from heavily tinted window. +1 close-up on 24mm and pop-up flash.

    Winter Squash

    Took some interesting pictures earlier today but haven't been able to download them (or...is it upload them?) and sort through them yet so this contribution was actually take from a few days earlier - a close-up of a large box of ornamental winter squashes and pumpkins, outside of the Trader Joe's market in Medford, Oregon. Rather amazing colors and textures....I spent a bunch of time staring at them before realizing I needed to photograph them.

    I didn't realize how seeing everyone's photos would make me want to get out of the house and take more.

    Really happy to be participating and seeing your photos.

    Now, now. Let's not go there! Golden is good enough for me!

    "They builded a tower to shiver the sky and wrench the stars apart,
    Till the Devil grunted behind the bricks: "It's striking, but is it Art ?"
    The stone was dropped at the quarry-side and the idle derrick swung,
    While each man talked of the aims of Art, and each in an alien tongue.

    The tale is as old as the Eden Tree - and new as the new-cut tooth -
    For each man knows ere his lip-thatch grows he is master of Art and Truth;
    And each man hears as the twilight nears, to the beat of his dying heart,
    The Devil drum on the darkened pane: "You did it, but was it Art ?" - Rudyard Kipling, The Conundrum of the Workshops. http://www.kipling.org.uk/poems_conundrum.htm

    This may mark a personal turning point for me. (You have my permission to laugh.) Despite the fact that my husband is a train buff, when I hear one coming toward me this is my how my thoughts usually go: "A train. Am I far enough away from the tracks? Yes, I am. Good. It will be here soon. Oh, trains are eminently photographical objects. I could get a shot of this one. How shall I compose the shot? Oh, darn, there it goes." This time I located the tracks, turned on my heel, and actually pushed the shutter button in time to get a shot!
