    I really love winter photography in the rural areas. It's often a time of waiting and transformation.

    That it is. When I was younger I thought of Winter as a dead blah time. Once I started hiking in the winter months, I quickly realized it is just a transition period. Even in the coldest weather, there's a lot going on out there if one wants to find it. Right now our weather is very mild and reminds me more of early Spring (I've even found trees flowering).
