Tried to get his Christmas photo done today but I can see it's going to take at least two of us!

Liking this month's theme
Today's doodad: MAD SCIENCE!
Part of a sundial.
The entire motto roughly translates as "I only count the sunny hours".
Not many of those today.

More photgraphic memories:
Our 13yr old golden retriever passed today. So sad. So no doodads today...
Sorry to hear that. I'm sure he had a wonderful life with you.
My sympathy Don - I'm sure you have some great photo memories.
My heart goes out to you, Don.
I don't know what it is, but I want one!
It got up to 54 today. There were fog advisories out. We'll be back in the 20's by Friday, so I dragged myself out to see what the river looks like in the fog. On the way, I decided it was high time to finally get around to photographing our torpedo. Yes, Lacon has a tank. Spring Valley has a tank. Mark has a helicopter. We have a torpedo but nothing to fire it from. And, not to whine or anything, but it's not as easy to photograph a torpedo as it sounds. They're sort of long and thin, and it isn't intuitively obvious how to fit them into the frame. BUT I started photographing the two plaques NEXT to the torpedo in the lovely, diffuse light that was apparently brighter than it seemed. I'm sorry if I sound flip. I seem to have some difficulty separating my current stream of consciousness from the larger significance of things around me. I'm thinking about how to present this entire plaque and do it justice, especially so close to the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, but on each upper corner the plaque has the insignia of the U. S. Navy and of the U.S. Submarine Veterans of WW II. I hate to call this a "doo dad" but this is my close up from Henry for today.
