I took a bunch of test shots with the RX1 and RX100 in JPG and RAW. After pixel peeping at home in the 27" screen, I am totally impressed with the IQ of both cameras.
The RX1's low ISO IQ is on par with that of the M9, and it destroys the M9 above ISO 1600. The RX1 renders tons of sharp details even at f2. M9 might be a little sharper at low ISO, but nailing focus on the M9 is a little bit harder than the RX1 for my aging eyes.
The face detection was very effective, locking on the face even on a profile angle.
Oh boy .... very tempted. And wife is still offering ...
