Nature is already planning for autumn, although I don't like to be thinking about that.

All taken this morning on a Panasonic G1 with 45mm, f/2.8 Leica DG Macro-Elmarit

Bittersweet (beware it's poisonous, a member of the nightshade family)

    1030393.jpg
    Elderberry

    1030394.jpg
    Honeysuckle

    1030396.jpg
    Bramble

    Rose

    Blackthorn (Sloe)

Enjoy the days of summer whilst these fruits ripen

I prefer not to think about what comes after autumn - but I thank you for taking the time to look so deeply at what many of us miss. I didn't know that Bittersweet was poisonous. You've made a wonderful image of that beautiful plant before it turns the red I so often think of.

BB, you've got me wondering now. I've seen references to its being poisonous, but then again I think I've seen at least one reference that suggests it isn't, perhaps it's one of those stories that has been put about and now entered the lexicon with little basis in fact. Someone must have tried it in order for it to have the name it carries, rest assured that I am not going to try it to see if it lives up to its name, or indeed whether it is poisonous.

Good, interesting shots. The first one in particular reveals some of the strengths of that lens - and of course the strengths of the photographer.

Its hot down here in the south. I could use a little autumn-like weather.

I bet it's hot down there Jason!

We're in a phase of lovely summer weather right now on the NY seaboard area.

Barrie, I wouldn't taste them either! I feel that way about eating wild mushrooms unless I'm with a real authority who is picking them.
