Mine digs too. That is out-of-focus dirt around the nose. This is taken with the NEX5N and an adapted lens. I forget which one, probably a Pentax.

Oh, shucks. Fortunately my dog and cats...used to be dogs and cat, get along well. I can understand Archie might not want an interloper at this stage of the game.
 
Thanks Sue, I overexposed by 1 stop I think, turned down the clarity and upped the blacks a little then put them into Camera Bag (trialing) for a frame. I've only had these two FA lenses since last May and haven't really used them very much but looking at the forums I realize that I need to stop them down a bit to get good sharpness. The FA77 is particularly bad for ca in high contrast situations. The puppy never stays still long enough to get a good sharp eye picture but I take what I can get :)
