I have been trying to take a dragonfly shot... you know the ones, dragonfly attached to a stick, drying its wings or whatever... but I never could, they would always take off before I could get one... or else the shot I did get was OOF, and not worth keeping.

I decided to keep this one *and* post it. Never thought I would manage a shot with a manual lens, let alone a shot of a dragonfly flitting about the yard. Its the only one I kept, and yes, lots of PP, sharpening, noise reduction and some CEP.

I'm fairly pleased with it :)

Thanks, Christina :) it was the K-5 plus k55 f/1.8. The EXIF data lies, because I completely forgot to tell the camera the focal length was 55 (I had had a 200mm on it just before). ah well...

Thanks Luke. I had the lens set at f/1.8 or 2, and the dragonfly was between me and the grass (thats my long lawn!! Mowed today though) and closer to me, than to it.

I'd let yourself be much more than fairly pleased with this shot! This is how I would feel if I had managed this shot: :yahoo:

Excellent capture Sue! The only one's I'm able to shoot are the one's that are VERY still, it does happen occasionally.
